July Impact Report

August 7, 2019

Another month has come and gone. Many thanks to our wonderful team at both locations! We reached out to many people this month and couldn’t have done it without the staff’s diligence and hard work. We are making a difference in our community!

To show our appreciation to the hard working Schertz police officers and volunteers on July 4, we donated pizzas to feed them during the annual Schertz Jubilee Festival.

Thank you for making the event a safe and fun place to celebrate!

On July 8th, we hosted a fundraiser for the Buffalo Valley Select Baseball team

They were earning money to support their trip to the championship in Dallas. We were blessed by the large support from the community.

Mattenga’s, with the help of our great community, was able to donate 30% of the sales ($386) to help them in their endeavors.

UPDATE:  Great job by BVYA’s 12u select in the regionals in Dallas. Went 10-2 out of 32 teams and lost those two games by a total of 3 runs. Great job!!!

We also surprised the Selma City Council and donated pizzas for their meeting on July 11.

Friday, July 12, we fed some hungry teens at the City of Schertz Parks and Recreation Teen Night. These guys look pretty happy!

Mattenga’s provided the meal for the July Chamber Luncheon in Schertz on July 16th. Everyone enjoyed pasta, vegetables, salad and breadsticks, especially, the salted caramel brownies. Yum!

Also on July 16th, Mattenga’s blessed Crosspoint Church VBS volunteers with pizzas so they wouldn’t be hungry and could keep up with all those excited kids! Even Moses liked our pizza!

The next day, July 17th, we donated pizzas to the VBS volunteers at the Schertz United Methodist Church and Calvary Temple. We love seeing all the adults and kids having fun in our community.

We donated 2 gift cards for the Belmont Park subdivision summer pool party on July 20th. They held a raffle and used the cards and other donated items to bless their community.

On Sunday, July 21, we fed the VBS setup team at River City Community Church. This hard working group had the task of decorating the sanctuary, halls and classrooms for all the children that would show up the next week.

We catered the driver’s meeting for O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Warehouse on July 22nd. These gentlemen enjoyed Chicken Alfredo, Spaghetti and Meatballs and breadsticks. Hope they were able to stay awake for their meeting.

The last group of VBS volunteers we fed on July 24th were from Bracken United Methodist Church. We really appreciate how our community reaches out to families and gives them a fun and safe environment to learn.

SYNC at NoBu Station Apartments hosted a summer pool party on July 27th. Mattenga’s donated gift cards for their prize giveaways.
